I have fought a good fight;
I have finished my course;
I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)
John Laudun began his citizenship in Heaven on November 1, 2015. Born in Weeks Island on October 16, 1934, John grew up among a wide network of family all of whom miss him already. He worked his way through college and was in the first graduating class of architects at the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He went home to Franklin to begin his career, but his work eventually led to careers with the U.S. Air Force and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office. While he was always proud of his work, he was most proud of his membership in and service to the Church of the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church and, later, the Church of the Holy Cross Anglican. John is survived by his wife of thirty years, Sandra; daughter Kristina; son John, daughter-in-law Yung-Hsing Wu, and granddaughter Lily Wu-Laudun; sister Tika Laudun; nephew Blaine Landry; nieces Lisa Landry and Trinity Laudun; and family friend Lucy Derouen. A memorial prayer service celebrating his life will be held at St. John Methodist Church on the corner of Highland Road and Rene Drive in Baton Rouge on November 14th beginning with visits with family and friends at 1:00pm and a prayer service at 2:00pm. Rabenhorst Funeral Home East is in charge of arrangements.
